Great point. Hard work can make up for a lot. There is no food that makes you run a 4 minute mile!!!

In support of Steve on it’s not what you eat : Remember what Usain Bolt famously ate for breakfast on the day of his olympic 100 m record …. chicken nuggets.

Thats right steve, love your body. Go change your shorts they are cutting essential blood supply to your vital organ.

  7. Spikesfeet says:

Why should I counteract my sporty body gained from exercise by not supporting it with a diet of lots of fresh fruit, vegetables and and high quality protein?
Both is important. Eating what lets your body perform to its best and “performing”(running and work-outs) at the same time.
That’s the way I do it – I feel healthy and energized and have a toned body. And have the knowledge that because of what I eat – I not only “look” toned and healthy but really am healthy on the inside, too. ;)

just joking but i dont think those shorts are healthy

Check30127 – that is a great response and a very good point.

That was the whole point behind the video bullybasher2000. You exercised for a full hour to get rid of those calories and your body is stronger because of it. When you opt to do what is easy, rather than what is hard work, your body doesn’t get any better or stronger.

By your logic, a person who consumes 2000 calories a day and does no exercise would be equal to a person who consumes 2600 calories a day and does enough high quality exercise to burn off 600 calories in that day. Not true.

  11. bullybasher2000 says:

    Come on Steve,

I ate 2 donuts, 600calories in total, in about 5 minutes.
I had to excercise for a WHOLE HOUR to burn those calories off.

It would have been easier to leave out the donuts and excercise for just 1 minute.

Eating is a bigger influence !

if you want to look like an athlete you need to eat like one, if you want to be as fit as 1 you need to train like one… Nutrtition is key.

  13. ToughGermanWoman says:

You’re right, Steve. I was sceptical a few months before but today I know it from my own experience. I can eat what I want. To get in shape it is not so important what I eat but how high the caloric intake is and how intense I work out. Training hard and eating the right amount of food decreases body fat, builds muscle, fires up the metabolism and transforms you into a food burning furnace.

Thanks for the inspiriation. I love your videos.

What your saying Steve is 100% right! NOTHING beats exercise. Im trying to tell my folks this but they prefer the dieting!

  18. ComradeNu says:

So if you put the most premium, well-refined fuel in your 1992 Toyota Camry over a year… it will turn into a Ferrari? Great analogy man…

  19. gessono says:

as a longtime runner, i run faster and am less winded when i eat a proper diet. drinking coffee was the worst. i would be out of breath a quarter of the way into my run. calories are also a misguided measurement. not all foods are equal, and your body isn’t in the same shape so long as you expend them.

    For better health

  21. Like2breakrules says:

The benefits of diet and exercise very. Since i have been eating apples and salad everyday I notice my skill looks healthier. Steve I listened to what you said about calories and did a count on my weight class. I was amazed that only 1/3 of my daily calorie intake could be burned through hard work or exercise through out the day. Exercise contributes to over all health, but the right kind of food is the magic formula.
