Question…In this calorie deficit, am i losing mainly body fat or muscle?

  3. guitarobsessed85 says:

so basically to lose what I want I have to run 20ish miles a day and eat 600 cals a day. I’m at 8% bodyfat but I want to be at around 2%. I’m having a really hard time getting down there

  4. vietguy808 says:

well i ust eat to satisfy my hunger, and eat whole foods..no processed foods, and just be active. eat breakfast….cut ur sugars…drink water ..

  5. rock962000 says:

Steve, How am I supposed to know how many calories I lose when I don’t go to the gym but run at a park for about l 30 minutes which is about a mile or so and then come home and life weights for about an hour?

  6. mygoatisdead says:

1750 a day? Ridiculous, thats way way way too high. Nutritionists and doctors do not recommend more than 1000 calorie a day deficit, unless you’re morbidly obese.

You’d better be hugely fat and eating 4000 calories a day before trying to cut 1750 calories from your diet. Please research on the web about this.

You’re going to hurt yourself, or burn through your skeletal muscle, or cause your body to jump into starvation mode and slow your metabolism way down (means you get fat later).

  7. BodyPerformanceTV says:

It would be easier to eat a bit less every day and just exercise 2 hours a day. But you can if you want.

  8. socofan4ever says:

is it safe for me to make a 1750 calorie deficite per day?! i have nothing but time on my hands and i can exercise for about 6 yo 8 hours a day. is that too much for such a short time?

  9. hops5000 says:

I use this technique by doing cardio on an empty stomach…really burns the fat and creates a big enough calorie defecit for me…from Feb. to Mar. of this year I lost 3.9% body fat using the calorie defecit..it really works but you have to stay motivated

  10. ToughGermanWoman says:

Steve, what excacly -is- the “calorie deficit”?

Assumed that my total daily energy expenditure is 2700 calories, and I eat another 2700 calories. Hence, there would be no caloric deficit, right?

But let’s say I do a 90 minutes cardiovascular workout by which I burn 1000 calories. Would I then have a deficit of 1000 calories?

    2700 calories TDEE
    minus
    2700 calories intake
    minus
    1000 calories workout
    equal

    -1000 calories deficit

    Is this right?

  11. BodyPerformanceTV says:

Fat cells don’t regenerate like some other cells in the body. Fat is just the accumulation of unuses calories (food.) Create a calorie deficit and your body begins to use that fat for fuel.

  12. jerrymclos says:

so shudnt a person be loosing excess body fat regardless if there coloric intake and output is equal, because rebuilding dead cells take new energy

  13. jerrymclos says:

i got a question here steve. using my own logic ,i thought that for example a fat person’s fat rebuilds it self ,by gettin rid of dead cells replacing it by new ones. so even if you dont create a calorie deficit how is ur body going to be able to keep ur fat mass the same when your coloric intake is the same ,shudnt the body loose fat because it isnt able to get reserved energe (calories) to make new cells and get rid of dead ones.

  14. BodyPerformanceTV says:

Total calories is MUCH more important than the number of meals. Keep up the good work.

  15. shawnkilledyou says:

my brother and my cousin told me that if i don’t eat 6 meals a day, or eat atleast 2000 calories a day, i’ll stop losing weight. is this true?

i’ve been eating less than 1500 cals a day, and loosing weight, will this stop?

  16. BodyPerformanceTV says:

Yes. That’s why we must create a consistent calorie deficit through eating and exercise for months not weeks to lose weight.

  17. gange12345 says:

So if i need 2000 calories to function daily and I create a calorie defecit of 100 calories per day through exercise and eating the total will equal 1900 calories and i will lose weight. However i then get absolutely smashed 2 weeks later and consume my norm amount plus 10 -12 beers, 250 calories each + a kebab (700). This means itll be around 5200 calories (2200) more than i need and 600 calories more than ive lost in those 14 days. Am i gonna put on weight and lose what ive done…..?

  18. mlh8723 says:

Say for example your body needs 2000 calories to function.
you use 250 calories through activity (excercise/moving) and you eat 1750 calories. for that day you will have used 500 calories less than your body has in it.
    2250 – 1750 = 500 calorie deficit. Easy!

  19. ziberteck says:

they say you burn cals just doing activites a day(not counting excersize) dos ethat count if your working? caus ei doubt i burn alot of cals just by walking threw the house.

  20. scottv says:

Say I am 5′8″ and weigh 170lbs, My BMR is around 1826 calories/day. I burn about 1000-1500 more through high cardio excercise + a physical job everyday and i consume 2000-2200 calories a day. I’m still eating alot, but creating a deficit of 1000 or more calories a day through excercise alone. Is this pretty safe?

  21. angelbaybee32 says:

i am 32 female 165 cm and 177 pounds(80kg). I am eating 1200 to 1300 calories a day and exercising is this good for weight loss.
    Pennie

  22. ASJChaotic says:

1000 calories a week is incredible???? haha I create about a 1500 calorie deficit a day throguh exercise haha now thats incredible…..

  23. ejt2004 says:

Well all i got 2 say is that you know your stuff keep posting vids im working on my Exercise Science Major i love this stuff well correct me if im wrong but don’t u have 2 stay anywhere between 15% to 20% of a caloric deficit from your maintanace level or TDEE to prevent any LBM Loss

  24. Rhypes99 says:

lol – i was the same – I sit at a desk all day – but you have to bring some self control into the picture – find foods that you like that do not have the same calorie content – that way you can eat without worrying about it as much – but then you have to accompany that with exercise – to create the calorie defecit! then things start hapenning rapidly at first. good luck.

  25. jeeze86 says:

Sheesh, i’m a food aholic, I eat like 5000 calories per day in sodas and junk food alone…it is soooo hard to keep from eating when I’m at work sitting around at my desk! *sigh*
